Abbott’s vascular manufacturing facility in Clonmel helps meet worldwide demand for vascular devices. Our broad line of vascular devices – which includes Vessel Closure, Endovascular and Coronary technologies, are used to treat vessel diseases of the heart, carotid arteries and peripheral blood vessels.
We currently have a vacancy for a Financial Analyst to join the business based at our vascular manufacturing plant in Clonmel.
PURPOSE OF THE JOB
Reporting to the Finance Manager, this role will support the site finance and operations teams across several key areas of the business. The ideal candidate must possess excellent data accuracy and analytical skills, be capable of working on own initiative and able to prioritise tasks and meet deliverables in accordance with predetermined deadlines.
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Complete a broad range of financial services and deliverables providing financial support to site manufacturing operations
2. Assess reasonableness and relevance of financial assumptions with limited supervision
3. Perform general accounting activities and reconciliations as part of the month end processes
4. Review and approval of capital project and inventory expenditures
5. Prepare and review monthly KPI metrics for areas of responsibility and communicate to key business stakeholders and senior management
6. Assist in the preparation of the site Annual Plan & quarterly Plan updates
7. Maintain controls to assure compliance with GAAP, Sarbanes-Oxley & internal Corporate Financial Policies assisting with Statutory & Internal audit activity as required
8. Partner with cross functional teams to ensure key business deliverables are being met whilst identifying and implementing initiatives to improve
EDUCATION & COMPETENCIES
1. B.S. in Accounting or Relevant Business Course preferred
2. Qualified accountant (CIMA, ACA, ACCA) with 2-3 years PQE
3. Related industry experience an advantage
4. Excellent financial analysis skills & strong attention to detail
5. Excellent interpersonal communication skills
6. Ability to work on their own initiative or as part of a team to prioritize tasks and objectives
7. Ability to support area senior management and work with cross functional teams
8. High level of proficiency in MS Excel and understanding of financial accounting systems (SAP experience preferred)
