We're hiring aPlanning Engineerto join our client who is a one of Ireland's leading civil and engineering companies.
They deliver large-scale infrastructure projects all over the country and have been growing massively.
The successful candidate will play a key role in coordinating with local authorities, emergency services, and transport providers to ensure smooth project execution while maintaining compliance with regulatory requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
Handle UE Escalations and manage customer complaints efficiently.
Process T1 applications and liaise with relevant stakeholders for approvals.
Manage road closure applications, ensuring compliance with local authority regulations.
Communicate effectively with Dublin Bus and Go-Ahead regarding traffic disruptions.
Organize and coordinate Variable Message Signs (VMS) for public notifications.
Submit planning applications and ensure all necessary documentation is completed.
Arrange indemnities as required for works and road closures.
Coordinate with customer care teams to facilitate carding for affected residents.
Notify blue light services (emergency services) about planned works and disruptions.
Draft directional and narrative statements for County Councils (CoCo) on road closures, including descriptions and press release content for public information.
Requirements:
Full clean driver's license essential.
A qualification in engineering or equivalent is desirable.
Civils, drainage, or utilities (water & electricity) experience.
Previous experience and the ability to read designs.
Commercially aware of projects costs.
Experience with site activities and multiple teams.
Good knowledge of HSQE requirements.
Good knowledge of ground support systems.
Computer literate.
Confident, motivated and can work independently as well as part of a team.
Ability to work under pressure with strict deadlines.
Time management abilities to meet targets.
Good communication, interpersonal, and customer service skills.
Integrity and respect for confidentiality and privacy.
