Overall Purpose of the Job
The Community Centre Manager oversees the daily operations of a Community Centre in the Fingal area. They ensure the smooth running of the facility, manage staff, engage with clients and local organisations, and work closely with the Board to develop the centre’s services and financial sustainability. The role is key to creating a welcoming and inclusive space for community activities, events, and programs.
Main Duties and Responsibilities
* Act as the main point of contact for the Community Centre and liaise with the Board on strategy, financial matters, and governance.
* Develop and implement business and marketing plans to grow community engagement and revenue.
* Build strong relationships with local stakeholders, including schools, community groups, and local authorities.
* Ensure the centre is well-maintained, safe, and adheres to health and safety regulations.
* Manage finances, including budget oversight, invoicing, and securing grants or funding.
* Recruit, train, and manage staff, ensuring smooth day-to-day operations.
* Oversee the management of the on-site coffee shop and support its development as a social enterprise.
* Maintain accurate records, reports, and filing systems.
* Lead fire and emergency procedures and ensure compliance with safety standards.
* Represent the centre in Fingal County Council’s Facilities Network and contribute to community-based projects.
Qualifications and Experience
* 2+ years of experience in a management role, ideally in a community, non-profit, or facilities setting.
* Strong leadership, financial management, and problem-solving skills.
* Knowledge of safe working practices and health & safety legislation.
* Excellent communication, organisational, and IT skills.
* Experience in stakeholder engagement and community development is an advantage.
Working Pattern
Monday to Friday, from 8:30 AM to 5 PM.
