Grade II Inspector - Mines & Quarries
The Role:
A Grade II Inspector will be responsible for a range of tasks, including:
* Managing a team of direct reports and creating a positive working environment
* Supporting the professional and personal development of team members
* Carrying out inspections, market surveillance and investigations within relevant areas
* Preparing and delivering reports to relevant managers on team performance
* Initiating and developing key policy initiatives for assigned sectors or legislative areas
Duties may also include work in manufacturing or other sectors as required.
The successful candidate will have:
* A primary degree (NFQ level 8 or equivalent) in Mining Engineering or Civil Engineering or equivalent
* A minimum of 3 years' work experience in either mining or tunnelling
* A full driving licence (Category B)
Desirable requirements include:
* A recognised qualification at Diploma level or higher in Occupational Safety and Health
* Experience in the management of staff
* Knowledge and understanding of specific rules, schemes and operating procedures used in mining or extractive environments
* Membership of Institute of Materials, Minerals and Mining (IOM3)
