About The Land Development Agency
The Land Development Agency (LDA), established in September, is a key Government land management initiative.
Its objectives are to:
1. Coordinate appropriate State lands for regeneration and development, opening up key sites for housing delivery;
2. Drive strategic land assembly, working with both public and private sector land owners;
3. Contribute towards the delivery of affordable housing; and
4. Become a leading influencer of housing and land management, through research and innovation.
The LDA will be underpinned by grounding legislation and is overseen by an independent board of directors. The Government has committed to providing the LDA with equity capital of up to €1.25 billion.
Role Overview
The role offers the right candidate the opportunity to work on a wide range of transformative residential and regeneration projects across the country and experience the full development life cycle of large scale projects from acquisition and concept through to delivery and operation.
The ideal candidate will have technical qualifications with the drive, work ethic and adaptability required to play an important role in delivering landmark projects.
This is an excellent opportunity for a Building Services Engineer with 5+ years of post-qualification experience to join the Land Development Agency. The Building Services Engineer will be a part of the Construction Team and will assist in the day-to-day management of matters pertaining to the construction, technical and operational stages of a project.
Key Responsibilities:
5. Reporting to the Construction Manager, the Building Services Engineer will have the responsibility to support the delivery of Building Services Systems on designated projects.
6. Support Liaison with the Utility companies to ensure their infrastructural and interface requirements are understood, communicated, and adhered to.
7. Support the tracking of equipment and plant through each stage from submittal approvals through to samples and mock-ups / ordering / FAT's / delivery and quality checking is carefully managed.
8. Support the monitoring of Building Services installation and commissioning works on site against the planned progress requirement of the programme.
9. Support formal snagging, quality walk downs and associated inspection and sign-off of the Building Services Installation.
10. Support the development of site specific Inspection, Test, Commissioning and Handover Plans with Contractors.
11. Attend and witness on site testing and commissioning demonstrations when required.
12. Support the progressive assembly and approval of the Safety File.
13. Review Building Services Design Drawings to ensure compliance with design specification and guidelines.
14. Collaborating with other participants in design process: architects, structural and, fire consultants.
15. Attending design and contractor site meetings.
16. Ensure Building Services information released for construction has been reviewed by all designers and construction team, amended/approved prior to issue for construction, and is in line with the specification/contract.
17. Monitor, coordinate and control the flow of mechanical design information to ensure the timely release of information for construction activities.
Essential Requirements:
18. 5+ years of post-qualification experience in a relevant area.
19. Experience working in the Residential Sector is essential.
20. Technical Competence through operational involvement in MEP projects.
21. The ability to demonstrate technical and commercial skills necessary to support the management of building services projects.
22. Effective interpersonal skills working in multi-disciplinary teams.
23. Awareness of health and safety policies and practices and have positive safety values and behaviours.
24. Understanding of importance in implementing quality management systems, inspections, test commissioning and handover plans.
25. Demonstrable willingness to take on new responsibilities and the ability to work unsupervised or as part of a team within a well-defined project organisation structure.
·Be a driven proactive solutions & results focused team player, with the ability to adapt to new challenges.
26. A keen interest in the development process and developing skillsets like:project and development management skillsetcontractual, commercial and financial aspects of development projects;building & managing stakeholder relationships.
27. Technical knowledge – an understanding of technical principles, construction buildability, technical solutions value engineering would be an advantage.
28. Full clean driving license as some site travel will be required.
