Financial Reporting Lead
The Financial Reporting Lead will be responsible for the consolidated monthly financial reporting process. Reporting to the Reporting & Accounting Manager, the Financial Reporting Lead will also have responsibility for supporting the statutory and shareholder financial reporting requirements.
Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Manage the preparation of monthly accounts for the business and its subsidiaries, including detailed commentary and analysis for presentation to internal and external stakeholders.
2. Review Business Division monthly management reporting submissions, including investigation of variances, and escalation and review of queries.
3. Ensure that appropriate control environment is in place for monthly financial reporting and close process.
4. Drive continued improvements in the monthly management accounts reporting and close process to ensure the delivery of relevant, timely and accurate management reporting information.
5. Prepare detailed cashflow commentary and analysis.
6. Assist in the preparation of the annual financial statements for the business and its subsidiaries.
7. Collaborate with relevant teams to ensure the delivery of financial reporting submissions for incorporation in the annual statutory financial statements and half yearly financial statements and provide expertise and support as required.
8. Collaborate with the relevant parties to ensure the delivery of regulatory accounts and accompanying disclosure notes.
9. Ensure that all policies, processes, procedures and controls are documented in line with best practice.
10. Lead/champion/participate in projects to ensure the development and implementation of best practice financial systems.
11. Work with IT to deliver enhancements to both Oracle and Hyperion.
12. Identify and escalate risks and issues and recommend improvements as appropriate.
13. Manage finance stakeholders, participate in relevant meetings and develop strong working relationships with key stakeholders.
14. Perform other duties as required from time to time.
Knowledge, Skills and Experience:
1. Relevant third level degree and at least 5-7 years relevant experience.
2. A recognized accounting qualification (ACA; ACMA; ACCA) or equivalent.
3. Prior experience in financial reporting including management and statutory reporting.
4. Month end consolidation experience essential with demonstrated experience of producing high quality financial information to tight deadlines.
5. Proven ability to highlight important issues, make appropriate judgments, and interpret financial results for senior management.
6. Excellent IFRS knowledge and statutory accounting expertise is advantageous.
7. Prior experience of Oracle eBusiness Suite and Hyperion is advantageous.
8. Support the implementation and acceptance of change within the workplace and embedding a culture of continuous improvement.
9. Commercial focus while keeping overall financial perspective.
10. Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, coupled with the ability to generate innovative technical solutions as required.
11. Provide coaching in the development of the technical skills and abilities in others.
12. Experience of developing and maintaining effective partnerships with key stakeholders.
13. Should have a proactive attitude towards analysis and research, interrogating different electronic and physical media and always looking to develop market knowledge.
14. Strong written and verbal communication skills.
