Post doctorate vacancy for a researcher to play a key role in a multi-year project aimed at assessing the scale and future impact of defective concrete blocks in Irish housing stock. The role will involve:
1. Data analysis
2. Stakeholder engagement
3. Predictive modelling to develop key performance indicators (KPIs) for structural deterioration
The researcher will work closely with Geological Survey Ireland, the Department of Housing, Local Government & Heritage, local authorities, and community groups to provide data-driven solutions and policy recommendations for long-term housing resilience. The post will be based within the Department of Civil Structural and Environmental Engineering with opportunities for remote/hybrid working, though some travel for field studies and stakeholder meetings will be required.
