Role: Operations Manager
Location: Consumer Foods, Killygordon, Co. Donegal
Contract: Permanent Full Time
Reports to: Steve Giles, Head of Consumer Foods Site Operations
Key Responsibilities
1. Manage end-to-end site operations, including supply chain management, packaging, trucking, and liquid milk operations within KYG systems.
2. Lead initiatives to continuously improve operational processes, efficiency, and safety across the site.
3. Take ownership of and lead change management initiatives to align with our automation goals and ERP integrations (365, Siemens, WMS).
4. Work closely with commercial teams and farm services to ensure seamless collaboration and align site operations with broader business goals.
5. Lead recruitment, selection, and appraisal processes for key team members. Assign, direct, and oversee work to maintain productivity and performance.
6. Demonstrate strong decision-making abilities, taking ownership of outcomes in all areas of site management.
7. Utilise ERP data and systems to drive analytical insights, optimise performance, and implement strategic initiatives.
8. Embrace lean manufacturing principles, using root cause analysis to solve operational issues and continuously improve site efficiency.
Required Experience and Qualifications:
1. Experience with 365, Siemens, and warehouse management systems (KYG) is essential. A strong ability to leverage data for decision-making is critical.
2. Track Record in Continuous Improvement - demonstrated experience in driving continuous improvement initiatives and leading site-wide change management projects.
3. Proven leadership in managing cross-functional teams, including production, supply chain, and logistics.
4. Ability to apply root cause analysis and lean methodologies to improve operational performance.
5. A growth mindset with a demonstrated appetite for personal and professional development, particularly in areas of automation and technology adoption.
Candidate Profile
Minimum of 5 years of experience in production or operations management in a food manufacturing environment, preferably in dairy or liquid milk production.
Proven experience in managing a team and achieving operational goals.
Experience in working with cross-functional teams, including quality, maintenance, logistics, and HR.
Full clean drivers' licence.
