Job Description:
The Principal Instrumentation Engineer will play a pivotal role in supporting, directing, and providing subject matter expertise on electrical and instrumentation systems during both the start-up and operational phases of the site.
Key Responsibilities:
* Instrumentation Ownership: Manage and own the site calibration program. Ensure optimal performance of instrumentation equipment, addressing root cause analysis (RCA), safety/quality deviations, equipment upgrades, obsolescence, and mean time between failure (MTBF).
* Maintenance & Reliability: Provide expert engineering support to maintenance teams and equipment owners. Ensure maintenance programs align with reliable operational standards. Lead equipment reliability improvements, identifying obsolescence and planning proactive replacements.
* Training & Development: Deliver training to maintenance personnel on new equipment, methodologies, and techniques. Develop, review, and own departmental Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
* Continuous Improvement: Identify and implement initiatives to enhance the maintenance program for plant reliability. Support the development of calibration standards and measurement uncertainty programs.
Required Qualifications & Experience:
* Education: Honours Level 8 Degree in Electrical & Instrumentation Engineering or equivalent.
* Experience: Minimum 5+ years in a maintenance/engineering role within the pharmaceutical industry.
* Residency: Must reside in Ireland with a valid Stamp 4 or EU passport.
* Skills: Strong expertise in troubleshooting and equipment failure investigation. Familiarity with relevant EU directives (e.g., ATEX) and engineering standards (NSAI, NECI, IEC, ISO, etc.). Proven ability to independently manage projects and systems with excellent organizational skills.
