We're seeking motivated, customer-focused Automation Engineers to join our Reliability Maintenance Engineering team. As part of this team, you'll maintain and optimize technologies within the Global Amazon Warehouse & Delivery Network.
Purpose of the Job
We're looking for skilled professionals who want to contribute to our team as Automation Engineers (AEs). The primary focus of the AEs is to troubleshoot, improve controls solutions for automated material handling equipment, and provide training to Engineering Technicians on device troubleshooting and preventive maintenance.
Key Responsibilities:
* Serve as the site-level Subject Matter Expert (SME) for all controls systems and sensors within the building, actively monitoring, fault finding, and repairing systems to provide high equipment availability to internal customers.
* Train technicians in control systems basics to enhance knowledge within the site.
* Participate in or own continuous improvement projects with the EU Controls network to enhance monitoring capabilities and provide visualization and data to internal customers.
* Work with IT, EU Controls Engineering, and Operations Engineering to ensure accurate documentation and backup libraries are maintained.
* Support global teams in installing and commissioning new equipment.
* Assist other sites in the EU network as needed.
* Develop improvement strategies for code conforming to IEC 61131-3 by interpreting mechanical and electrical drawings.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
* Relevant experience with PLC-controlled automation and issue diagnosis in a continuous process or production environment.
* Experience supporting various conveyors and sortation systems.
* Experience dealing with material handling, flow, and capacity visualization and monitoring.
* Proficiency in Microsoft Office, SolidWorks, Ignition, Visio, and AutoCAD.
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English and local language at CEFR Level B2 or higher.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
* Degree in computer science, mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, or related fields.
* Understanding of ISO 13849 & 62061.
* Familiarity with the CE Machinery Directive.
* Experience in a multi-site environment.
* Project management experience.
* Knowledge of Six Sigma, data analysis, and process improvement techniques.
