We are currently looking to recruit a Local Operations Manager on a Permanent basis to join the team covering the South West Region in Ireland.
How can you make a difference?
Working as part of the UK/IE Region service team the Local Operations Manager is responsible for managing a team of service technicians to ensure completion of their allocated service activities within the specified timeframes and according to required standards. Local Operations Manager’s focus on the fieldwork and spend at least two days per week with their service teams at different service points.
What will you be doing?
Key responsibilities for this role include:
1. Managing our site teams to ensure that they carry out their work effectively, safely and to the required standard as well as reviewing performance
2. Recruiting and developing Service Technicians including identifying of training needs in order to maintain a high-performing team
3. Developing staffing plans for the area
4. Responsibility for HSE in their respective service area, implementing internal and external regulations as required to ensure HSE compliance
5. Responsibility for operational performance of thing respective service area by ensuring availability of Wind Turbine Generator (WTG)
6. Using Operational data to monitor teams, individuals’ and farm performance, taking action as appropriate to share successes, address shortfalls and make improvements
7. Ensuring that quality standards are met at all times
8. Responsibility for cost control and stock levels
9. Ensuring a smooth handover from Project Management to Service
10. Supporting business planning for new service points in case of growth in the area or needed relocation due to business development
11. Overseeing site safety auditing and reporting
12. Managing site facilities
13. Managing of large operations (such as gearbox exchange) and improvement initiatives
14. Managing customer operational topics and ensuring proper communication
15. Checking employees time tracking regularly to ensure compliance with Working Time Regulations and submit correct data for payroll purposes
What are we looking for?
The successful candidate will have experience of working in a leadership role within the wind industry or a similar sector and have strong experience of managing remote based field teams.
You will hold a degree level or equivalent qualification in Mechanical and or Electrical Engineering and have proven experience of dealing with complex businesses and have exceptional negotiation skills.

This role will require travel on a regular basis, including nights away from home and the successful candidate must hold a full UK / EU Driving Licence.
