Job DescriptionThe Scheduling Manager is responsible for delivering timely and reliable time schedule data in relation to all capital programmes being delivered by Infrastructure.
The role holder will provide direction, guidance and management of the embedded scheduling resources to ensure competent and consistent use of standard processes, systems and tools and quality of all schedule deliverables and associated performance analysis.
There will be a focus on continuous improvement in all the scheduling functionality.The Scheduling Manager will support the Programme Controls Manager to strategically plan recruitment, deployment and capability development of scheduling resource as well as co-ordinate and communicate information to other members of the Programme Controls within Functions.Functional Requirements, Standards & PerformancePlan and manage complex multi-project programme time schedules to ensure timely delivery of Programmes.Act as coordination lead for the production of outward facing summary reports discussing programme progress, critical issues, impact and mitigation.Provide interface and quality assurance regarding the tracking and reporting of schedule performance for reporting purposes and provide oversight tracking and monitoring of schedules.Assess and determine the need for change to scheduling processes and methods and implement changes to deliver improved performance.Programme Scheduling ActivitiesAnalyse, review and highlight critical time schedule issues and ensure viable resolution plans are in place.Formulate analysis of programme controls data and create summary level programme reports for various ad-hoc data / analysis queries from senior managers.Lead and support the programme team in the implementation of an integrated, cross functional master schedule with various third party inputs and programme interfaces.Analyse deviations from the baseline in the Project Master schedule highlighting bottlenecks / delays and propose corrective actions and report.Coordinate and work with project parties to generate master schedules for projects and programs applying resource and cost loading (information availability dependent).Coordinate the development and implementation of project Work Breakdown Structures (WBS) and Cost Breakdown Structures (CBS) in concert with Programme controls Lead, cost consultant and contractor, and in conjunction with Programme Execution Plans.Working within a multi-disciplinary team & managing stakeholdersDrive a positive, motivated culture within the scheduling team and ensure they are invested in managing and improving scheduling performance.Establish and maintain a good, professional and pro-active relationships within and outside of the programme controls teamMake a timely response to scheduling queries and requests for information from stakeholders.Qualifications15+ years' experience, at least 3+ years within the aviation and transport industryStrong experience of scheduling technically complex and high value projects within Infrastructure deliveryAbility to coordinate & organize multiple sources of schedule inputs/performance data into a master schedule platform and deliver project/program status reports as required.Experience of working in a comparable consultancy environment, or with a client or contractor organisationExtensive knowledge of scheduling principles, methods, techniques and tools, including the use of PrimaveraKnowledge of policy and procedure implementation in relation to Programme ControlsDetailed knowledge of the planning, design and construction activities undertaken across an aviation project.
Namely terminals, airfields, piers, civils or surface projects.Experience building critical path schedules from knowledge and first principles, interviewing and leading workshops with project resources.
