Medforce are seeking a Senior Occupational Therapist to join a friendly, dynamic, supportive Children Disability Network Team in Sligo.
Contract: This is a 6-month contract (with a view to extend), full time hours Monday – Friday, 35 hour working week plus excellent benefits including free onsite parking, incremental HSE pay-scale, generous annual leave entitlement and CPD opportunities.
Main duties of the job:
* Assessment and Intervention: Conduct comprehensive assessments and develop individualized intervention plans for children with diverse disabilities, focusing on enhancing their functional abilities and participation in daily activities.
* Collaboration: Work closely with a multidisciplinary team, including speech and language therapists, physiotherapists, psychologists, and social workers, to ensure a holistic approach to care.
* Family Support: Provide education, training, and support to families and caregivers, empowering them to facilitate their child’s development and participation in home and community settings.
* Leadership: Mentor and supervise junior occupational therapists and therapy assistants, providing guidance and fostering a collaborative learning environment.
* Program Development: Contribute to the development and implementation of innovative therapeutic programs and services that address the evolving needs of children with disabilities.
* Documentation: Maintain accurate and timely documentation of assessments, treatment plans, and progress reports in accordance with professional and organizational standards.
* Continuous Professional Development: Stay abreast of the latest research and best practices in pediatric occupational therapy and apply this knowledge to improve service delivery.
Essential Criteria:
* A BSc in Occupational Therapy or an equivalent CORU registered Occupational Therapy qualification.
* Be CORU registered.
* Excellent communication skills and ability to interact well with children and young people.
* Have enthusiasm, imagination and initiative.
* Full Clean Driving License with use of a car.
