Blackrock Health- Galway Clinic is now seeking a skilled Electrical Maintenance Technician to join their team.
The Role
As an Electrical Maintenance Technician, you will contribute to the effective and efficient Operations and Maintenance of Galway Clinic Facility Services.
You will report directly to the Engineering Manager and work on a permanent full-time basis (37 hours per week).
Key Responsibilities
* Provide electrical expertise to the Engineering Manager and assist other team members as needed.
* Participate in the general emergency response team and out-of-hours on-call emergency response team as required.
* Join the Fire Emergency Response Team as necessary.
* Respond to reported Facilities defects as part of the Engineering Emergency Call Out Team.
* Address reactive Facility defects and prioritize them accordingly.
* Perform Plant Rounds on all GC Electrical and Mechanical Services, diagnose and rectify defects as they occur.
* Conduct reactive and planned preventative maintenance on GC plant and machinery.
* Record log sheets and prepare technical reports on plant status and condition for submission to the Engineering Manager.
* Isolate and re-instate plant and equipment as required.
* Pursue Electrical project work as needed.
* Issue Permits to Work to contractors and supervise their work.
* Undertake tasks in other crafts where competence has been demonstrated.
Qualifications and Experience
* Hold a 3rd-level qualification in a related technical discipline.
* Have 3-5 years of experience as an Electrical Maintenance Technician in a similar organization, preferably in the healthcare sector.
* Demonstrate knowledge and experience with a wide range of electrical and mechanical systems, including emergency lighting, backup generators, fire alarms, AHUs, chillers, boilers, calorifiers, electrical installations, and general building service duties.

* Basic knowledge of mechanical services.
* Electrical fault-finding, maintenance, and installation skills.
