Job Description:
We are seeking a talented and experienced Network Engineer who possesses a service mentality and is capable of juggling priorities as needed to ensure business continuity.
Responsibilities:
* Ensure the continuous operation of secure platforms, servers, and networks.
* Install, configure, monitor, and maintain infrastructure, virtual machines, storage, including future cloud/hybrid environments.
* Collaborate with colleagues in the local IT department, sister companies across Europe, and technical partners to ensure that infrastructure is fit for purpose and harmonized as far as possible within the division.
* Maintain local ownership and contribute to strategic developments internally, participating in roadmap activities, design, and development of new technologies embedded in our end products.
* Troubleshoot and resolve incidents, including vendor management, liaising with all members of IT and local maintenance departments.
* Manage VMware ESX/vSphere, SAN, and related equipment (HP or NetApp).
* Oversee local network administration – Cisco infrastructure, SD-WAN, leased lines, VPN.
* Operate, configure, and manage incidents in an ISO27001-based environment.
* Contribute to business continuity planning and management of associated hardware.
Requirements:
* 3+ years of experience administering or technically supporting complex infrastructure environments.
* Computer Science or Information Systems degree or equivalent experience.
* Security auditing and vulnerability scanning skills.
* Technical documentation skills.
* VMware ESX/vSphere certification (ideally VCP).
* HP SAN technologies training or certification (3Par, Nimble, Primero).
Advantageous Experience:
* Management of plant rooms/small data centers.
* Related certifications (ITIL, project management, LEAN, etc.).
* German language skills.
