Job Description:
Senior Physiotherapist – Cavan Area
The main purpose of this position is to design, deliver and evaluate the physiotherapy programmes for people with MS and other neurological conditions under the umbrella of “Active Neuro”.
Role Purpose:
To design, deliver and evaluate the physiotherapy programmes for people with MS and other neurological conditions.
Reports to:
Exercise and Physiotherapy Coordinator
Contract Type:
Specific Purpose fixed-term contract for one year (with potential for extension)
Hours:
7 hours per week
Key Duties to Include:
1. Enable PwMS to optimise their full potential through group and individual, online and in-person physiotherapy treatment and management programmes.
2. Work within the CORU Physiotherapy Code of Professional Conduct and ethics.
3. Maintain and improve standards of practice through participation in continuing professional development opportunities.
4. Ensure a high standard of physiotherapy assessment and treatment for all patients.
5. Liaise with relevant HSE clinical staff and other stakeholders for effective communication.
6. Maintain adequate records and case notes using MS Ireland's Salesforce system.
7. Work within statutory health and safety guidelines to ensure a safe working environment.
8. Carry out clinical audits of the physiotherapy service and provide reports as required.
9. Undertake other responsibilities consistent with the nature of the work in the post.
10. Adhere to budgetary requirements.
11. Other duties as assigned by Manager.
Person Specification
Experience and Educational Requirements:
1. Evidence of registration on the CORU Physiotherapy register.
2. A minimum of 3 years post-graduate experience, including at least 1 year in neurology.
3. Experience running group programmes and/or tele-health is highly desirable.
Knowledge and Skills:
1. Client-focused with excellent interpersonal skills.
2. Excellent oral and written communication skills.
3. Proficient IT skills.
4. Possess a full clean driver’s license and have use of own car.
5. Understanding of the ethos and operation of MS Ireland.
6. Ability to demonstrate respect and empathy for clients and maintain confidentiality.
7. Ability to work independently, set goals, and implement programmes to achieve targets.
8. Working knowledge of person-centred care and case management systems.
