Permanent Overview of the Role: Veolia Technical Department are expanding the Energy Engineering Team in response to a strong pipeline of exciting energy projects across our public, commercial and industrial customers.
The primary objective of the Demand Side Management Engineer will be to assist the technical team in securing new and expanded/extended existing contracts, and thereafter support the delivery of these projects in conjunction with Veolia's project implementation team.
Energy projects will focus on demand side energy management and metering the industrial utilities sector (steam, hot water, compressed air, refrigeration, biomass systems, combined heat and power systems), and the commercial/public sector buildings sector (lighting, HVAC, renewable energy, controls/BEMS.
The role will require knowledge and experience in Demand side Management, energy auditing, capital cost / benefits analysis and DSM implementation/testing.
Day to Day of the Role Responsible for the identification, analysis,Design, costing and project management of energy conservation projects.
Capable of performing in-depth investment grade audits, producing revenue and energy savings projection models.
Originating project development plans and drafting contract scopes of work for tendering exercises.
Defining performance specifications for equipment suppliers and contractors.
Carrying out tender evaluations and contract negotiations.
Support the implementation team with the development of project schedules, and budgets.
Support existing and new Veolia sites with the development of monitoring and targeting systems and key performance indicators that will assist the delivery and maintenance of long term energy reductions.
Providing an Energy Bureau service to Veolia clients will also be required, and Perform energy tendering exercises, optimise energy tariffs and perform bill validation exercises as required.
Providing 24/7 on call rotation once a month to support the VPP monitoring team if required.
A flexible working nature, the ability to drive to Veolia sites throughout the island of Ireland and an excellent client-facing nature is a must.
Some international travel may also be required.
Required Skill for the Role 3rd level Engineering/Building Services Degree or equivalent experience 5 years previous experience in an energy role (Essential)
Excellent spreadsheet, presentation and report writing skills IPMVP (International Performance Measurement and Verification Protocol) experience (Desirable) ISO 50001 experience (Desirable) Chartered Energy Manager (CEM)/Energy Engineer (CEE) or Certified Measurement & Verification Practitioner (CMVP) (Desirable) Mechanical or Electrical design experience Understanding of energy markets, policies and support mechanisms Ability to identify and quantify energy saving opportunities in the industrial and commercial sectors (Essential) About Us:
