We want committed, values driven staff to join our Dublin team and are currently looking for a Data Protection Officer to be part of our Corporate Services department.

Our office is in Dublin 2 and we are currently working a hybrid model (50% remote working) and offer flexi time.
The job:
Concern Worldwide is committed to having systems in place in order to ensure that it meets all of its reporting and compliance obligations in relation to Data Protection. The primary role of the is to ensure that Concern Worldwide the of its staff, donors, and all, in compliance with the applicable data protection rules.
This role will liaise with people across the organisation providing support and training relating to issues within its remit.
If you join us, this is what you will be doing:
1. Act as the primary point of contact within the organisation on issues related to data protection.
2. Provide expert advice and educate employees on important data compliance requirements.
3. Evaluate the existing data protection framework and identify areas of non or partial compliance and rectify any issues.
4. Promote a culture of data protection compliance across all units of the organization.
5. Draft new and amend existing internal data protection policies, guidelines, and procedures, in consultation with key stakeholders.
6. Hold training with staff members across different business units who are involved in data handling or processing.
7. Manage data breaches and ensure reporting is carried out within the required timeframe.
8. Proactively conduct audits to ensure compliance and address potential issues.
9. Maintain records of all data processing activities carried out by the company.
10. Serve as the point of contact between the company and the data protection authorities
11. Participate in organisational working groups as required;
12. Participate in relevant external networks and develop contacts with peer agency counterparts to facilitate sharing learning and best practice;
13. Carry out other tasks as appropriate under the direction of the Director of Compliance Services.
Skills you will bring:
Essential:
14. Primary degree in a related field
15. Minimum of three years’ experience working in data protection compliance or a related field
16. Expertise in European data protection laws and practices including an in-depth understanding of the GDPR
17. Experience within a legal, audit and/or risk function department
18. Strong project management skills
19. Ability to work well under pressure and manage sensitive and confidential information
20. Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with strong attention to detail
21. Great interpersonal skills and ability to work well both independently and as part of a team
22. Flexible, adaptable, and a sense of humour
23. Cross cultural awareness and empathy with organisational goals
Desirable:
24. Experience in INGO sector
You will report to The Director of Compliance Services and work with all Concern staff, institutional donors, partner organisations and external suppliers.
The salary is from €54,500 - €62,286 ( band 5) pro-rated and this is a permanent part-time contract .
Part-time: 60% (21 hours per week)
