Job title: Cluster Sales Manager - The Dean Group

The Dean Group is a collection of design-led lifestyle hotels, proudly born and bred in Ireland, with rapid growth on the horizon. As we expand our global footprint, we are seeking a Cluster Sales Manager for our Dublin properties.
Purpose:
As Cluster Sales Manager – Groups, Dublin, for The Dean Group, you will be required to maximise all sales and revenue generating opportunities across the group segment. To develop new and strengthen existing business opportunities with a particular emphasis, but not limited to, growing the hotels room revenue and market share within the groups segment, and overall sales. You will also work in conjunction with the hotel marketing, and revenue teams to achieve budget.

* Customer care skills – in line with brand expectations
* Presentation and business negotiating skills
* Knowledge of Opera, Lanyon and commercial sales platforms is an advantage
Reporting to: Head of Sales, Dublin
Location and Hours:
* Based in Dublin, Hybrid role. Some flexibility required
* Core business hours: Monday to Friday 9 - 17 but the nature of the role will require flexibility.
Main Tasks or key responsibilities:
* Develop and implement proactive sales strategies to maximise revenue, driving business development opportunities and grow market share.
* Generate leads and secure new business through cold calling and networking, managing key accounts to foster long-lasting partnerships.
* To successfully carry out an agreed schedule of proactive sales activities as per the performance management plan for the sales department – Group specific but not limited to the cluster sales function of the Dublin and groupwide portfolio.
* Maintain and develop new and existing business opportunities. To manage and coordinate regular database maintenance with agreed parameters.
* Follow-up calls on all sales leads, enquiries – passing on leads to other sales personnel/management across the hotels where appropriate.
* To compile Weekly/Monthly Sales Reports as required and a weekly sales activity report.
* To manage all aspects of the group rate contracting process.
* To coordinate and monitor all research campaigns designed to deliver new business prospects for the hotel and venues. To attend events held in the hotel and offsite when required.
* To attend and conduct: Fam Trips, site inspections and sales promotions as required and represent The Dean Group at consumer promotions, trade exhibitions, seminars & workshops, and follow up leads where required.
* To maintain and continuously develop the company CRM system to ensure the accurate recording of relationships with your customers.
* To carry out any other reasonable tasks as assigned by management to meet with business needs.
Key Requirements:
* Educational Background: Bachelor's degree with ideally a minimum of 3 years of experience in hotel sales.
* Communication and Management Skills: Strong communication, planning, problem-solving, and organisational skills; effectively manages individuals and teams.
* Negotiation and Presentation Skills: Extensive experience in negotiation and presentation within a commercial environment.
* Literacy and Numeracy Proficiency: Strong literacy and numerical skills, complemented by computer literacy.
* Adaptability in High-Pressure Environments: Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with a results-driven focus, evidenced by a proven record of achieving commercial objectives.
* Intellectual Acumen and Creativity Engagement: Strong intellect and sound judgment, with the ability to recognise and foster creativity across the team.
* Relationship Building and Client Management: Demonstrates strong networking skills to establish and maintain relationships with clients, partners, and industry stakeholders.
* Communication: Exhibits excellent verbal and written communication skills, alongside strong interpersonal abilities, to effectively manage high-level client negotiations and collaborate with the Board and senior stakeholders while fostering positive relationships.
* Industry Knowledge: Has an in-depth understanding of the conference, exhibitions, and events industry, including insights into market dynamics and competitor analysis, as well as a keen awareness of emerging trends, technologies, and sustainability practices that are shaping the meetings and events sector.
* Sales Performance and Business Development: Proven track record of meeting or exceeding sales targets and driving revenue growth, ideally with experience in securing large-scale conferences, exhibitions, and corporate events.
* Contract Negotiation and Closing Skills: Skilled in negotiating complex contracts with clients, encompassing terms, conditions, and pricing, with a demonstrated ability to close high-value deals that create mutually beneficial outcomes for both the client and the business.
* Customer-Centric Approach: Demonstrates the ability to anticipate client needs and deliver exceptional service that ensures high customer satisfaction and retention, with a strong focus on creating memorable event experiences for clients.
