Job Description:
* Carry out site assessments for renewable energy generation projects, including solar, wind, hydro, and biogas, evaluating site conditions, resource availability, and potential constraints to determine project feasibility.
* Write technical reports to a high standard, producing comprehensive documentation such as feasibility studies, performance assessments, and compliance reports tailored to client and regulatory requirements.
* Conduct energy audits to identify inefficiencies and recommend actionable solutions to improve energy performance and reduce environmental impact.
* Undertake design calculations and reporting independently, performing detailed system sizing, energy modelling, and cost analysis with a strong focus on project program and budget.
* Participate in client and internal meetings as part of the energy team, presenting technical findings, providing updates, and collaborating on design solutions to ensure alignment with project goals.
* Collaborate with multiple stakeholders to produce planning documents and submit planning applications, coordinating inputs from environmental consultants, engineers, and planners to prepare thorough and compliant applications.
* Supervise junior team members and review work items, providing mentorship, ensuring quality standards are met, and fostering professional development within the team.
Qualifications
Essential:
* Hold an honours degree (level 8 in the National Framework of Qualifications), or equivalent professional qualification, in civil, mechanical, electrical or energy engineering as applicable to the role.
* Have at least 5 years’ relevant experience in engineering consultancy (with energy related projects) or energy management.
* Experience in Energy Auditing, Energy Efficient Design, Renewable Energy Feasibility and Design, Planning Applications.
* Experience administering contracts using both the Public Works and FIDIC Contracts.
* Ability to work as part of a team.
* Knowledge of BIM.
* Excellent verbal and written communication.
* Full driving licence.
Desirable:
* Experience in renewable energy projects including Solar PV, Wind, Hydro and Biogas.
* Energy Auditing experience of industrial sites, ISO50001 & Si 426.
* Energy Efficient Design for MEICA and Building upgrade works.
* Project Management/Contract Management experience.
* Feasibility assessments for renewable energy including cost benefit analysis.
* Site Surveys and Assessments.
* Experience in liaison with ESB and Grid Connections.
* Experience with water / wastewater treatment plant projects.
* Good knowledge and awareness of Health & Safety legislation and regulations.
* Experience with software packages to design solar and wind generation.
