Post Summary:
Applications are invited for the above post, which will support the delivery of the undergraduate programme in medicine. The main purpose of the post is to coordinate the third year of the programme. The successful candidate will spend approximately 50% of their working week undertaking programme coordination, teaching, and other programme-related activities.
The successful candidate will be expected to undertake a higher research degree (MD, PhD, or MSc) and will spend approximately 40% of their working week undertaking research.
For the remaining 10% of the working week, the successful candidate will have the opportunity to undertake a clinical session by agreement with the clinical partner, which may include an on-call commitment depending on their clinical background.
The workplan may vary during the academic year with additional teaching commitments required during examination weeks and for other specified teaching activities.
The successful applicant will report to the Director of Undergraduate Teaching & Learning.
The successful candidates must complete all relevant pre-employment checks upon commencement of the post, including but not limited to; being registered with the Irish Medical Council, being cleared from a Garda vetting, and being cleared from an occupational health perspective by the relevant hospital.
Post status: The appointment is offered on a one-year fixed term contract basis with a potential for renewal up to a maximum of 3 years. The appointment is available from 14th July 2025.
Salary: This appointment will be made on the HSE Registrar scale €68,872 - €78,748 per annum scale or HSE Specialist Registrar scale €74,970 - €93,339 per annum in line with current public pay policy.
