The appointed Grade II Psychologist will support the Senior Psychologist and the multi-disciplinary team (MDT) to treat individuals with mental health difficulties and offence-specific needs.

The IPS Psychology Service is a national, public psychological service that provides an integrated care model for adults in prison. The service works with individuals presenting with various mental health difficulties, including mood and anxiety disorders, personality and behaviour disorders, complex post-traumatic stress disorder, self-harm and suicidal behaviour, eating disorders, psychosis and schizophrenia, addiction, and developmental disorders.
The psychologist will work as part of a broad multi-disciplinary team within the prison and have regular contact with community agencies involved in the support and resettlement of people leaving custody. They will also work with families and carers of those in custody and provide time-limited community interventions to support clients' transition from custody to community.
The IPS Psychology Service holds the principle of equivalence of care as its foundation and balances this with the principles of Risk, Need and Responsivity (RNR).
