The Business Development Director will drive sales growth in a number of sectors and target industries using expertise in creating and generating leads from an existing prospect database as well as developing a robust new prospect pipeline to ensure sales targets are met.

The Role
As part of the team, your key responsibilities are:
* Actively identify potential leads to grow and maintain a robust sales pipeline and attract new clients.
* Consistently and accurately maintain CRM database ensuring content is kept up to date.
* Meet deadlines and sales targets.
* Maintain excellent relationships with insurers and stay up to date on industry developments.
* Conduct meetings with prospective clients when required.
* Support and liaise with the Business Development Director and Sales and Marketing Team including attendance at regular team meetings.
* Understand target markets (including industry) and which strategies can be used to attract new clients.
* Meticulous attention to detail ensuring internal company and regulatory standards are adhered to at all times.
* Support marketing campaigns by telephone follow-up.
* Deal with clients in a professional manner, addressing queries in a timely fashion and ensuring any outstanding matters are addressed prior to handover to the business.
* Check and issue policy documentation.
* Collaborate with the team to ensure the smooth implementation of campaigns and their rollout and follow-up.
* Assist in the development of internal cross-selling campaigns by collaborating with internal stakeholders.
* Map new business opportunities using industry research and lead generation tools, taking a proactive approach to bringing new market intelligence to the team and delivering on targets.
* Complete complex market submissions and insurer follow-up.
* Support client-facing staff in maintaining CRM requirements.
* Self-generate prospect meetings and liaise with Willis Contact Management team to create further sales appointments.
* Work with team colleagues to develop winning proposals for prospects.
* Maintain a detailed knowledge of products and services offered by Willis Towers Watson.
* Network internally with other business units, within the sector, and with external specialists (lawyers, TPAs, insurers).
Qualifications
The Requirement
* CIP minimum requirement, ACII and/or MDI an advantage.
* Experienced in the new business sales process and track record of converting prospects to clients.
* Previous experience in a sales-driven role in the insurance industry is an advantage.
* Skilled at building effective relationships at all levels with clients, prospects, associates, insurers, and external specialists.
* Good practical knowledge of account development and appropriate tools to achieve this aim.
* Experienced knowledge of the insurance industry in order to deal effectively with client and Willis Towers Watson needs.
* Ability to represent the practice and Willis Towers Watson with integrity and credibility.
* Excellent communication, negotiation, and influencing skills.
* Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
