Financial Controller Job Description
We are seeking a highly skilled Financial Controller to join our team in Dublin. The ideal candidate will have experience in finance and accounting, with a strong understanding of financial reporting, budgeting and forecasting, internal and external audits, and tax filing.
Key Responsibilities:
* Manage and oversee the accounting operations for a group of companies, ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting.
* Lead the month-end and year-end closing processes, including the preparation and review of financial statements, income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements.
* Ensure compliance with accounting standards and regulations, maintaining accurate financial records and supporting documentation.
* Oversee VAT reporting and compliance, ensuring timely and accurate filing of VAT returns.
* Manage accounts payable and receivable, ensuring timely processing of invoices, payments, and collections.
* Perform bank reconciliations, ensuring accurate matching of transactions and resolving discrepancies.
* Maintain and manage the general ledger, ensuring accurate and timely posting of transactions.
* Support internal and external audits by providing necessary documentation and addressing audit queries.
* Liaise with third-party service providers, such as banks and financial institutions, to manage company accounts and financial transactions.
* Provide financial insights and recommendations to management, supporting strategic decision-making.
Requirements:
* Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, or a related field.
* 3-5 years of experience in finance or accounting roles, preferably with exposure to financial reporting, budgeting and forecasting, financial analysis, audits, and tax filing.
* Strong knowledge of accounting principles, regulations, and financial controls in the UK and Irish market.
* Familiarity with accounting practices and regulations in the German market would be a plus.
* Proficiency in financial analysis tools and software.
* Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and attention-to-detail skills.
* Professional qualifications such as CAI (Chartered Accountant Ireland), CPA (Certified Public Accountant), or ACCA (Association of Chartered Certified Accountants) are highly desirable.
* Experience with IFRS and FRS 102 is mandatory.
* Experience in a group of companies with multi-entities.
