Job Overview:
We are seeking an experienced Electrical Site Engineer/Design Engineer to join our team with specific expertise in data centre operations and infrastructure. This role will involve rotating between two key project sites within the EU. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in electrical engineering for data centres, including design, installation, and commissioning.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Oversee electrical installations, ensuring adherence to design specifications, safety standards, and industry regulations.
2. Monitor project progress, manage on-site technical teams, and coordinate with contractors and subcontractors.
3. Conduct inspections, tests, and audits to ensure compliance with electrical design and quality standards.
4. Troubleshoot electrical issues during the construction phase and ensure efficient problem resolution.
5. Provide technical support to the site team and resolve any engineering challenges that arise.
6. Prepare and maintain detailed site reports, schedules, and documentation.
7. Work closely with project managers to ensure project timelines are met and adjust plans when necessary.
8. Design electrical systems for data centre infrastructure, including power distribution, lighting, backup generators, and UPS systems.
9. Perform load calculations, circuit designs, and create detailed schematics and plans.
10. Conduct design reviews and ensure that all designs are compliant with industry standards and regulatory requirements.
11. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to optimize designs for energy efficiency and sustainability.
12. Provide input to the procurement team for selecting electrical components and systems.
13. Support commissioning activities and provide expertise to ensure designs are effectively implemented on-site.
Requirements:
1. Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
2. Minimum of 3-5 years of experience working as an Electrical Engineer in data centre projects.
3. Strong understanding of electrical systems used in data centres, including power distribution, critical power systems, lighting, and backup power solutions.
4. Hands-on experience with electrical installations, commissioning, and troubleshooting in live environments.
5. Experience in both electrical site engineering and design engineering functions.
6. Familiarity with European standards and regulations related to electrical systems and data centres.
7. Ability to work independently and in a team, with excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
8. Willingness to travel and rotate between two project sites in the EU, with flexibility to adapt to varying project timelines and work schedules.
9. Knowledge of AutoCAD, Revit, or other electrical design software is a plus.
10. Fluent in English; proficiency in additional languages is a plus.
