Position: Maintenance Assistant
Reporting to: Hotel Manager
Liaises with: Front Office Manager/Housekeeping Manager/Food and Beverage The Address Sligo is recruiting for a skilled professional to fill the role of Maintenance Assistant.
This individual will be responsible for developing and implementing comprehensive maintenance procedures, ensuring they are executed effectively throughout the facility.
To achieve this goal, the successful candidate will conduct regular inspections to identify any issues that may arise and implement solutions promptly.
In addition to these duties, the Maintenance Assistant will oversee all installation, repair, and upkeep operations within the property, guaranteeing that company facilities remain well-maintained and adequately support business operations.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Develop and implement maintenance procedures to ensure efficient execution.
2. Conduct regular inspections to identify and resolve issues in a timely manner.
3. Inspect electrical and hydraulic systems of buildings to verify functionality.
4. Plan and oversee all repair and installation activities to maintain high standards.
5. Allocate workload and supervise the maintenance team to optimize performance.
6. Monitor equipment inventory and place orders when necessary to prevent stockouts.
7. Control expenses related to maintenance and adhere to established budgets.
8. Maintain positive relationships with contractors and service providers.
9. Keep accurate maintenance logs and report on daily activities to ensure transparency.
10. Ensure compliance with health and safety policies, including fire safety protocols.
Requirements and Skills:
1. A solid understanding of technical aspects of plumbing, carpentry, electrical systems, and other relevant disciplines.
2. A working knowledge of facilities machines and equipment to efficiently perform tasks.
3. The ability to track and report on activity with accuracy and attention to detail.
4. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to interact effectively with guests and colleagues.
5. Outstanding organisational and leadership abilities to manage teams and priorities.
6. A deep understanding of plumbing and electrical systems as well as carpentry and other crafts.
7. Familiarity with all maintenance processes and health and safety regulations.
8. Aptitude for undertaking administrative tasks such as reporting, budgeting, and data analysis.
