MRI Lead Radiographer Role
As the MRI Lead Radiographer, you will serve as a leader, guide, and team mentor to ensure the successful delivery of high-quality MRI services to patients.
Main Responsibilities:
* Provide strategic and clinical leadership to deliver an efficient, effective, quality-assured, and patient-centered MRI service.
* Perform both general and highly complex MRI scans to a high standard.
* Organize, plan, and prioritize departmental workload to optimize resource utilization.
* Take responsibility for ensuring the day-to-day quality of the service provided, encompassing customer service and technical/clinical aspects.
* Contribute to the development and implementation of operational policies, protocols, and guidelines.
* Advise on equipment selection and make informed decisions regarding purchase, replacement, or upgrading.
* Participate in preparing plans for the MRI service, monitoring its implementation, and reporting on progress.
* Implement and maintain accurate information systems for clinical purposes.
* Manage consumables efficiently and implement a continuous learning program to ensure staff are up-to-date on MRI safety issues.
* Coordinate staff rotations through the Radiography Department to ensure adequate cross-trained staff are available.
* Be responsible for Quality and Health Safety Management within the MRI area.
* Maintain a working knowledge of HIQA, EPA & JCI Accreditation Standards applicable to this role.
* Participate in staff planning, recruitment, and selection processes.
Qualifications and Experience:
* CORU Registration is mandatory.
* A minimum of 5 years' experience as an MRI Practitioner is required.
* Possession of a recognized postgraduate course in MRI is highly desirable.
