Purpose of the Role This role is responsible for managing the export team and operations in Runcorn, with the objective of enhancing direct dispatch from the site and minimizing third-party logistics (3PL) export operations. The role involves maintaining the Sales & Operations Planning (S&OP) and Rough Cut Capacity Planning (RCCP) network modeling for the Runcorn site. Additionally, it includes managing relationships and operations with merchant hauliers at the Runcorn site. Key responsibilities include delivering ongoing and implementation stage automation projects at Saint James Gate (SJG), as well as pipeline automation projects in Runcorn, SJG, and Belfast. The role also involves overseeing productivity projects across all beer sites to achieve GBS Logistics' productivity and carbon targets. The role holder will report on all project progress and savings through our project management system and relevant forums. They will be an integral member of the Primary Logistics Leadership Team, participating in daily tier calls, Integrated Tactical Forums (ITFs), and finance calls as required. This position is crucial for ensuring adherence to standard processes within our onsite 3PL export operations in North West England. Key Responsibilities 1. Health & Safety Program: Maintain and lead safety standards across export operations. 2.Performance Metrics: Define appropriate leading for customer concerns and health & safety. Establish clear export key performance indicators measured against improvement targets agreed with key partners, prioritizing direct dispatch from site. 3.S&OP & RCCP: Create and maintain capacity forecasts for export operations to identify capacity risks throughout the year. 4.Project Delivery: Ensure timely completion of logistics automation and productivity projects. 5.Contract Management: Oversee export 3PL & 4PL expenditures, tracking through finance Business Performance Management systems (BPMs) and Operating Reviews (O&Rs). Project Management Requirements Project Planning and Execution: Define project scope, develop timelines, allocate resources efficiently. Automation Projects: Manage current and upcoming automation projects at various sites. Productivity Projects: Coordinate cross-site productivity improvements to meet targets. Performance Monitoring and Reporting: Track progress using project management tools; report savings. Risk Management: Identify risks early; develop mitigation strategies; establish contingency plans. Stakeholder Engagement: Develop communication plans; collaborate with cross-functional teams. Requirements - Capabilities, Skills & Experience Relevant Qualification in Business Management or Supply Chain Management. Knowledge of spirits/beers preferred; Comprehensive within the drinks industry desirable. Extensive experience in manufacturing; Manufacturing Excellence experience desirable. Strategic vision with thought leadership; externally connected approach. Proven track record in strategy delivery, project management, and partner engagement.
