DescriptionBDO Ireland's Audit department is growing and we have an open vacancy for a Manager in our Technology, Pharma and Insurance sector.
In this position, you will work directly with Senior Management and you will become a part of the decision-making process within the department.
This role involves managing a diverse portfolio of clients in the Technology, Pharma, and Insurance industries, acting as the primary point-of-contact to proactively manage client expectations.
Responsibilities include coordinating international reporting with Group and Component Auditors, leading audit teams through planning and execution, and managing staff resource allocation.
The role also requires providing technical auditing and accounting assistance, reporting directly to senior managers or directors, and overseeing the team's financial performance, including billing and cash collections.
Additionally, the role includes coaching and mentoring staff and managing pitches and proposals for new business opportunities.

Key ResponsibilitiesManage a portfolio of clients of variable sizes across Technology, Pharma and Insurance industries.Proactively manage client expectations and be point-of-contact for clients.
Working closely with Financial Controller/Director or Senior Executive levels in managing the audit specific requirements.Manage international reporting process both to Group Auditors and from Component AuditorsProactively manage client expectations and be point-of-contact for clientsCoordinate and project manage the allocation of staff resources to jobsLead teams on the planning; execution; and completion of auditsProvide technical auditing and accounting assistance to team members and clientsReport directly to senior manager/director on engagementsAssist with managing the team's financial performance e.g.
agreeing and billing of fees; cash collections; monitoring recoverability of WIP etcParticipate in the coaching, mentoring and appraisal of staffManage and coordinate the pitch/proposals for new work Skills Knowledge and ExpertiseACA or ACCA qualification with 3+ years PQE.Can demonstrate strong technical auditing and accounting skills, including knowledge of the ISAs and accounting standards FRS 100 to FRS 102 and IFRS.Proven management skills and behaviours.A strong market/commercial awareness.Understands the operational aspects of managing an audit team and be accountable for results.Good communication skills will be key, as you will be required to deal with senior stakeholders internally and externally.Strong project management skills, particularly in relation to managing expectations of stakeholders.Positive attitude and a high level of personal drive to guide change initiatives and see them through to completion.
