The Opportunity:
Due to continued business growth, we are currently recruiting a Civil Structural Engineer to join our Specialist Engineering Services department. This is a unique opportunity for a newly qualified or experienced Civil/Structural Engineer to work within the expeditious Geospatial industry. The successful applicant will be reporting to the Specialist Engineering Services manager and will be based in Ireland.
You will be mentored by a Chartered Engineer with over 20 years of experience in bridge and structure inspection/evaluation and our Operations Manager who is experienced in all the inspection methods and equipment that we provide. The right candidate will aspire to be a Chartered Engineer to conduct structural evaluation and repair designs.
What will I be doing in my new role?
Performing bridge/structural inspections using a variety of technologies and access methods.
Conducting 3D laser scanning using UAV/drone for bridges and structures.
Undertaking waterway inspections/surveys using 3D multibeam sonar.
Opportunities for Rope Access bridge inspection (abseiling).
Perform underwater inspections using Remote Operated Vehicles (ROV).
Utilise Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) methods and equipment.
Handling, processing and interpreting geospatial/inspection data.
Preparing technical structural inspection reports.
Assist Project Manager in coordinating inspection programmes and subconsultants.
Requirements of the role:
Degree in Civil/Structural Engineering - BSc in Civil/Structural Engineering or 3+ years equivalent experience
Fundamental knowledge of the principles and practices of bridge types and loadings.
Ability to perform detailed field and office inspection work.
Good writing skills and proficiency in the English language.
The right to work in Ireland.
Flexibility to travel nationwide as required by our clients.
Possess a full clean driving license.
