Job Description:
The Bodyshop Manager is responsible for the day-to-day running of the body-shop, ensuring excellent service to customers and achieving agreed customer satisfaction, loyalty, and profitability targets.
Main Responsibilities:
* Successfully manage all aspects of the body shop department's operations to achieve customer satisfaction, loyalty, and profitability targets.
* Involve in marketing and promotion campaigns for the body shop, consulting with the Marketing Manager and Aftersales Manager.
* Manage and resolve customer complaints relating to the body shop and record same.
* Provide highest level of customer service to achieve customer satisfaction, retention, and loyalty.
* Ensure all personnel understand and are committed to common goal – complete customer satisfaction.
Internal Processes:
* Ensure Retail Standards are complied with by the body shop on an ongoing basis.
* Ensure workshop loading and job cards are fully written up on every job.
* Quality process to be completed on every job.
* Prepare detailed work orders, including vehicle data, diagnosis, and estimates based on allowed time to complete.
* Manage tooling and equipment levels within the workshop and ensure all equipment is properly maintained and certified.
* Work with Aftersales, Parts, and Sales Managers to ensure co-ordination and cooperation between departments.
* Organize and check product recalls, warranty, and goodwill handling in accordance with garage guidelines.
* Ensure proper handling and storage of waste products and materials in accordance with waste-disposal regulations.
* Maintain a professional relationship with other departmental managers.
Financial:
* Manage all activity levels within the body shop and ensure effective utilization of resources.
* Assist in development of performance-related bonus systems to support efficiency and profitability targets.
* Manage the invoicing process within the body shop and ensure pricing guidelines are clearly understood.
* Continuously monitor performance against budget.
* Establish control systems to monitor factors affecting achievement of objectives and targets.
* Maximize department profitability through labor, parts, accessories, and subcontracted service sales.
* Ensure financial and non-financial targets are met.
* Maintain day-to-day control of departmental costs.
Learning and Development:
* Motivate body shop personnel on an ongoing basis.
* Carry out regular internal discussions with employees.
* Promote training of body shop personnel, scheduling dates and measures.
* Develop staff to achieve highest level of performance.
* Assist in recruitment and training of aftersales staff.
