Assistant General Counsel - Insurance Company
ASSISTANT VICE PRESIDENT | ASSOCIATE GENERAL COUNSEL
Duties and Responsibilities:
* Assist with the legal, regulatory and compliance affairs of the group and their related entities.
* Negotiate and assist with regional contracts and general corporate and governance matters.
* Assist with providing legal advice and training to the business.
* Monitor for and advise the business on legal and regulatory updates.
* Handle and assist with insurance regulatory and compliance matters, including complaints handling and regulatory filings.
* Handle and assist with data privacy matters.
* Maintain good relationships with outside counsel.
* Work effectively with the Legal & Compliance Department globally to ensure global consistency where possible.
* Such other duties as assigned from time to time.
Experience:
* An attorney with three to six years of total legal experience with a recognised law firm and/or in a corporate setting.
* Must be a qualified / licensed solicitor in England and/or Ireland.
* Strong insurance and reinsurance background preferred.
* Strong working knowledge of UK and EU laws and regulations.
* Experience dealing with the CBI, FCA, PRA and/or Lloyd’s.
* Must be a team player and very collegial.
* Excellent communication and organisational skills.
* Capable of managing multiple projects simultaneously in a busy environment.
