Job Description: Overview: PM Group is now recruiting for an experienced Senior Electrical Design Engineer with the ability to support the management and execution of data centre projects from conception to closeout.
We have a fantastic opportunity for an ambitious Senior Electrical Design Engineer to join our growing team.
As a Senior Engineer, you will have the opportunity to lead various stages of projects from concept to detailed design on projects largely within the data centre space.
A key part of your role will be to support and mentor your team members.

Responsibilities: Lead and manage the electrical services engineering team responsible for data center design projects.
Monitor electrical engineering staff at junior levels, if required.
Develop and implement best practices, standards, and guidelines for data center electrical systems.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including architects, mechanical engineers, and project managers, to deliver integrated data center solutions.
Engage with clients to understand their specific data center requirements and provide technical expertise and solutions.
Build strong client relationships through effective communication and project delivery.
Attend and participate in client and PM Group meetings.
Analyze complex engineering problems and offer effective solutions.
Lead the design and optimization of electrical distribution systems for data centers, including power generation, UPS systems, and distribution networks.
Check other electrical engineers' work for accuracy and quality and undertake peer reviews.
Provide support to fee and capital budget proposals as required.
Assemble and manage bid, approval, and construction issue electrical packages in an efficient and lean manner.
Direct and/or participate in project site visits to monitor, review and sign-off electrical installations.
Qualifications: Third Level Degree in Electrical Engineering or similar discipline.
10+ years of formal experience in industrial engineering design mainly in data centre, pharmaceutical and medical devices.
Chartered or working towards same.
Demonstrable advanced experience in the complete suite of electrical engineering design services including HV, MV, and LV power distribution, generators, UPS systems, lighting & emergency lighting, vertical transportation, small power, voice/data, cable containment, fire alarm, security, lightning protection, earthing & bonding, hazardous areas, and specialist control systems.
Advanced knowledge of all applicable electrical engineering codes, standards, and acceptable industry practices.
Commercially aware and have the ability to undertake value engineering activities and implement new technologies where they are implemented to provide cost-effective solutions for our clients.
Strong verbal and written communication skills required with the ability to prepare written specifications and contract documents.
Have a strong working knowledge of carrying out short circuit calculations, load flow, and discrimination studies utilising proprietary modelling software (Amtech / Caneco / SKM).
