Senior Account Manager
We are working with a company who are looking for a Senior Account Manager to join their team. The right candidate should be a highly capable Communications and Public Relations Professional who can handle a wide range of projects with a high degree of independence and sound judgement.
About you
1. Ability to “act up” for the Account Director when required and look ahead to capitalize on opportunities with clients.
2. Ability to mitigate multiple issues with a high degree of success.
3. Capable of being the lead contact for the client depending on the consultancy or business need appropriate at the time.
4. Actively involved in new business development, including growing existing clients and winning new ones.
5. Sustained positive feedback from clients and trusted counsellor to Account Directors and Heads of Practice.
6. Demonstrated experience in managing various client situations, including leadership changes and crisis management.
7. Proficient in developing plans, exercising sound strategic foresight, and mastering campaign development and ideation.
8. Excellent copy-writing, media management, and event management skills.
9. Stays on top of market trends and applies them to client programmes when appropriate.
10. Good knowledge of the digital/social landscape and has actively developed new competencies in this area.
11. Takes a lead role in evaluating campaigns, demonstrating real value to the client, and introducing new measurement tools.
12. Continues to invest in personal development and the development of others.
13. Involved in the recruitment of interns and AEs and manages them on a day-to-day basis.
Account Management
1. Perform day-to-day client account work, including media monitoring, producing written materials, coordinating events, and supervising junior staff.
2. Be familiar with communications plans for client accounts and track clients' business and PR objectives.
3. Design and execute media relations campaigns that meet client objectives.
4. Act as a liaison between the client, outside suppliers, and other internal and external audiences.
5. Meet with client contacts in a professional and positive manner to gain their respect and confidence.
6. Have knowledge of the full range of resources available throughout the company and how to apply them for clients.
7. Have good knowledge of PR measurement tools available within Ogilvy and externally.
8. Produce first drafts of annual and project-based PR programmes, contact reports, and news releases.
9. Maintain up-to-date media lists and contacts.
10. Manage events such as photo calls, press conferences, and media briefings.
11. Demonstrate proficiency in using internal and external research capabilities and preparing analyses.
12. Leverage knowledge of graphics, production, and media to add value to client programmes.
Financial/Administrative
1. Apply understanding of budget development and monitoring.
2. Manage billing and activity reporting processes.
3. Oversee preparation of activity reports as required.
4. Complete timesheets daily and adhere to company policies.
5. Manage time for optimum productivity and maximum billability.
Business Development
1. Contribute to the development and presentation of new business programmes for clients.
2. Conceptualize programme strategies and implementation tactics.
3. Identify opportunities to grow existing accounts or pursue new business.
4. Consistently contribute informed opinions and creative solutions to client issues.
Initiative and General Management
1. Balance workload and communicate effectively with team members.
2. Exemplify solid teamwork capabilities and demonstrate supervisory skills.
3. Identify and pursue opportunities for enhancing contributions to the account and consultancy.
4. Demonstrate initiative in proposing ways to advance team and client interests.
5. Operate with independence while knowing when to seek advice from supervisors.
6. Anticipate and take action to avoid workplace and client issues.
7. Manage agency and client resources effectively.
8. Recommend solutions and assist peers in problem-solving.
9. Participate actively in team, staff, and client meetings.
