Job Description:
Optum is seeking a dynamic individual to join our team to lead the Finance organisation of a growth business that will be a new service line within the Optum network.
The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in financial management and business development within the pharmaceutical or biotech industry.
Responsibilities:
* Serve as the senior leader developing and leading a global finance team
* Responsible for all financial operations, and financial reporting within Optum's Nuvaila business
* Lead financial planning and analysis, including budgeting, forecasting, and long-term financial planning
* Engage with accounting team on the preparation of all internal financial statements to support corporate financial reporting requirements
* Drive near and long-term strategic vision and priorities of the organisation and help lead business development activities including product licensing, co-development, and royalty arrangements
* Serve as a strategic partner to the organisation, providing insights to support key decisions and drive long-term business plans
* Identify opportunities for expansion into new product areas
* Participate as a senior executive in supplier contract negotiations, and provides executive sponsorship in managing supplier relationships
Requirements:
• Degree in finance, accounting, and/or related field
• Extensive professional experience in finance and/or accounting
• Strong interpersonal skills, and an ability to communicate verbally and in writing to all levels of the organisation
• Strong problem-solving and creative skills and the ability to exercise sound judgement and make decisions based on accurate and timely analyses
Preferred Qualifications:
• Pharmaceutical and/or life science industry experience
• Experience in health care government programs
• Experience with supporting commercial teams to create, execute, optimise, and rethink profitable growth strategies
• Confidence and assertiveness, with strong influencing skills across business functions and the ability to deliver difficult messages when necessary
• Adaptability and flexibility, willingness to embrace change and work effectively in ambiguous situations
• Ability to work independently, prioritise tasks, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
