Production Planner – Portlaoise

Role:
The Production Planner is primarily responsible for scheduling short and long-term production activities to fulfill customer and business demands. Additionally, this role plays a critical part in the overall execution of all site activities.
To accomplish this, the Planner must work with all departments across the operation including Production, Commercial, Quality, Supply Chain, and Product introduction teams. The planner will demonstrate and demand high standards for operational excellence and will take the initiative to drive improvements that expand production capacity and support future business growth.

Responsibilities:
1. Production Planning and Execution:
o Develop short and long-term production schedules in alignment with customer requirements, organizational goals, and objectives.
o Collaborate closely with the production and procurement teams to optimize resource utilization, monitor, and maintain inventory levels, and meet customer commitments.
o Understand processing time, equipment capacities, and personnel capabilities.
o Monitor and analyze production performance metrics, implement process improvements and adjustments as necessary to meet deadlines and quality standards.
o Coordinate with Project managers and Maintenance teams.
o Work with and support new product initiatives, including conducting time studies, costing, process development, and training when necessary.
o Coordinate all activity as required to complete production and shipping schedules.
2. Communication, Reporting, Analysis and Safety:
o Maintain clear communication channels with cross-functional teams including KPI and metric reporting to management teams.
o Understand and collaborate with Quality teams to maintain product integrity and support investigations and audits.
o Collaborate with various teams to execute on continuous improvement initiatives.
o Adhere to and promote strict environment, health, and safety protocols.
Requirements:
* 3-5 years production experience required.
* Proficiency in planning software and other relevant tools (MS: Excel, Word, PBI).
* Highest regard and respect for employees, customers, and suppliers.
* Experience working effectively within cross-boundary relationships.
* Open and straightforward in communications on all levels.
* 4-5 days on-site required.
