Senior Solicitor - Property, Risks & Coverage
We are partnering with a market-leading firm operating across the UK and Ireland to fill this key role.
This is an excellent opportunity for an ambitious and driven Senior Solicitor to join our Belfast team and work on high-value claims in the High Court, focusing on Property, Risks, and Coverage, as well as Recoveries.
About the Role
You will manage a caseload of complex claims, including indemnity and liability issues, while supervising and mentoring junior colleagues. The ideal candidate will have strong analytical skills, effective communication with insurer clients, and the ability to provide strategic legal advice.
Main Responsibilities:
* Manage high-value High Court claims, focusing on Property, Risks, and Coverage.
* Communicate with insurer clients and provide case updates.
* Analyse evidence, identify key issues, and liaise with medical experts.
* Provide technical advice on indemnity, liability, and causation.
* Draft legal documents, pleadings, and applications.
* Attend court hearings, mediations, and settlement conferences.
* Supervise and support junior team members.
* Contribute to business development and client relationships.
Requirements:
* Qualified solicitor or proven relevant legal experience, ideally at Associate level.
* Strong experience with indemnity, liability, and quantum.
* Experience with complex medical issues preferred.
* Critical thinking and experience in quantum analysis.
* In-depth understanding of case law, litigation practices, and Court Practice Rules.
* Strong time management, prioritisation, and deadline management.
* Innovative, adaptable, and proactive in problem-solving.
* Confident in seeking advice and providing guidance to junior team members.
