A medical device client in Galway is looking for an experienced Process Engineer to join their team on a 12-month hourly rate contract.
As a Process Engineer, you will play a key role in new product development, contributing to design, technology advancement, automation, vendor management, and project management. Your work will focus on developing cutting-edge technologies, equipment, and manufacturing processes for our next-generation medical devices.
Key Responsibilities:
- Utilize Design, Reliability & Manufacturability (DRM) principles and 3D modeling to develop high-quality manufacturing solutions.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define and execute new product development requirements.
- Drive process innovation by improving quality, technical rigor, and developing state-of-the-art systems, from mechanized to semi-automated solutions.
- Support process development, characterization, and validation for new product introductions.
- Apply Design for Six Sigma tools (DOE, MSA, DMAIC, Requirements Flow, Brainstorming) to solve complex technical challenges.
- Document and present insights to project and functional teams through Technical Reviews, Design Reviews, and Project Dashboards.
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives within the Process Development organization.
Key Skills & Experience:
- Bachelor's degree (Level 8 or higher) in Electronic, Electrical, Mechanical, Biomedical Engineering, or a related field.
- Ideally, 2+ years of experience in a similar role.
- Strong team player with the ability to work proactively in a cross-functional environment.
- Knowledge of medical device processes with a solid understanding of product and process design.
- Excellent communication skills in English, with a high level of enthusiasm and motivation.
- Strong organizational, presentation, and project management skills are desirable.
