Job Title: Assistant Director of Nursing - Nurse Practice Development
Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced nursing professional to join our team as an Assistant Director of Nursing - Nurse Practice Development. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the provision of high-quality care to residents/patients, promoting their autonomy and dignity, and contributing to the overall success of Bartra Healthcare.
Roles and Responsibilities
General Responsibilities
* Evaluate the quality of care provided to residents/patients and ensure it aligns with the mission, vision, values, and strategic plan of Bartra Healthcare.
* Prioritize the rights, needs, and comfort of each resident/patient during care delivery.
* Develop strong relationships with residents/patients, fostering autonomy, informed choice, and evidence-based decision-making.
* Maintain a safe environment, respecting the privacy, dignity, and rights of residents/patients.
* Maximize residents'/patients' capacity to exercise personal autonomy and choice.
* Support residents'/patients in maintaining their sense of identity and involve them in decision-making whenever possible.
* Cultivate an inclusive culture, respecting the age, gender, sexual orientation, disability, family status, civil status, race, religious beliefs, and ethnic and cultural background of each resident.
Management Responsibilities
* Assume responsibility for Governance, Leadership, and Management duties, including undertaking the role and responsibilities of the Person-in-Charge in the absence of the Assistant Director of Nursing.
* Support the Registered Provider/Director of Nursing in the day-to-day management of the Place of Work.
* Contribute to various Bartra Healthcare Teams, including the Multidisciplinary Care Team, Risk Management Team, Incident Management Team, and Infection Control Team.
Quality and Safety Management System
* Implement the Quality and Safety Management System, incorporating resident involvement, and monitor the service and care provided within Bartra Healthcare Facility.
* Participate in Bartra Healthcare processes, as required by the Registered Provider/Director of Nursing, including the development and update of Risk Management Registers and Individual Risk Management Plans.
* Recommend policy and procedure updates to the Registered Provider/Board of Directors, aligned with applicable laws, standards, and clinical best practice.
Eligibility Criteria
* A registered General Nurse with An Bord Altranis registration.
* Evidence of continuous professional development.
Desirable Qualifications and Experience
* Acute nursing experience.
* Experience working with surgical, medical, trauma, and rehab care patients.
* Wound care and management expertise.
* Qualification in management.
* Gerontology experience.
* Experience working with multidisciplinary teams (Physio, OT, MSW, SLT).
* Nursing metrics and audit skills.
* Incident management knowledge.
* Excellent communication skills and ability to lead a team.
* IT skills.
* Competency in IV administration and cannulation.
Essential Requirements
* Minimum three years post-graduate experience, including one year at CNM level.
* Acute nursing experience.
* BLS certification.
* Registered with NMBI.
