About the Role
We are seeking a Senior Speech & Language Therapist to join a multidisciplinary team supporting adults with intellectual disabilities.
Key Responsibilities
* Provide specialist SLT services to adults with intellectual disabilities, including assessment, intervention, and recommendations for communication and FEDS needs.
* Work within a multidisciplinary team, collaborating with healthcare professionals, families, and caregivers to enhance client outcomes.
* Utilize evidence-based practices to support individuals in various settings, including clinics, community locations, and residential care.
* Contribute to service development, training initiatives, and quality improvement projects within the department.
Requirements
* CORU registration as a Speech & Language Therapist.
* Recognized Speech & Language Therapy qualification.
* Dysphagia qualification as per IASLT standards, with independent clinical experience in FEDS management preferred.
* Minimum of three years post-qualification experience, with at least one year working with adults with intellectual disabilities.
* Experience with AAC (Augmentative & Alternative Communication), Lmh, Talking Mats, or similar communication supports.
* Full clean driving license and access to own transport (essential).
* Fluency in verbal and written English.
