Job Description
Endeavour is seeking an experienced QA Test Engineer for a 6-month contract position at our client's development office in Cork.
Key Responsibilities:
* Provide input and leadership to the project team, estimating, designing, developing, and executing test procedures and test cases.
* Offer guidance on functionality and quality related to the testing approach.
* Report regularly on test metrics and escalate issues as necessary.
* Review specification documents with the project team to create accurate and comprehensive test plans.
* Ensure deployed software meets expectations and conduct frequent reviews with the project team on testing status and results.
* Utilize test automation and tracking tools to maximize productivity during regression and performance testing phases.
* Suggest and implement improvements to the current testing process.
* Manage priorities and set expectations when faced with multiple demanding tasks.
* Take ownership of incoming support issues and apply simple production fixes or direct to the correct internal resource where possible.
* Be prepared to work beyond regular hours to meet project deadlines.
* Perform additional duties to support the testing function as needed.
Required Skills/Experience:
* 4+ years of cumulative system-testing experience, focusing on web-based testing.
* Strong testing background with experience writing test plans and procedures.
* Regression, integration, and system-level test execution expertise.
* Familiarity with test automation tools like Visual Studio Team System (Test Edition), HP Quick Test Professional, Selenium, or similar.
* Working knowledge of performance/load testing tools such as Visual Studio Team System (Test Edition) or similar.
* Experience with defect tracking tools.
* Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
* Ability to understand application architecture and locate issues.
* SQL experience would be beneficial.
* Self-motivated, proactive individual with analytical and problem-solving skills.
* Able to take ownership of problems and drive them to resolution.
* Track record of achieving high standards and results.
* Experience working on various teams and technologies, with the ability to test across multiple projects.
* Demonstrated ability to work independently or as part of a team.
* Strong oral and written communication skills.
* Desire to develop knowledge by attending workshops and reviewing technical publications.
* Experience communicating directly with clients.
* Candidates must be eligible to work in Ireland and hold a Stamp 4 visa.
