We are seeking a suitable qualified Senior Occupational Therapist to work in our newly developed low secure mental health service. The ideal candidate will have:
* A degree or masters in occupational therapy from a third-level institution
* Registration with CORU or pending registration at the application stage
* Knowledge of the Judgement Support Framework and experience supporting compliance with same
* Individual care planning and risk assessment experience
* Post-qualification work experience working in forensic mental health services
* At least three years relevant post-qualification experience as an Occupational Therapist, preferably in adult mental health services
The successful candidate will be responsible for:
* Clinical management of a caseload, including assessment, intervention, and evaluation of treatment programmes
* Occupational therapy assessment and intervention, considering self-care, productive, and leisure occupations
* Interdisciplinary working with the clinical team, including Consultant Psychiatrists, Behaviour Specialists, Nurses, Clinical Psychologists, Speech and Language Therapists, Social Care Workers, and Assistant Support Workers
* Developing and facilitating individual and group therapy programmes based on identified occupational performance difficulties
* Promoting recovery-oriented occupational therapy practice in interactions with individuals, staff, and stakeholders
The role also involves participating in multidisciplinary team meetings, attending conferences, and contributing to quality improvement initiatives.
