Description
This is an opportunity for a Legal Secretary to join our growing Ireland team, based in our central Dublin office.
You will be working alongside our litigation lawyers ensuring that we deliver market leading results for our clients. Our team handles all areas of commercial and insurance litigation, acting on behalf of a broad spread of insurer and commercial clients.
You will assist the solicitors in the day-to-day handling of cases, dealing with audio typing, liaising with third parties and managing key dates, working as a team at all times.
Key Responsibilities
1. All forms of typing / audio typing – letters, memos, emails, documents
2. Preparation of Court documents and Briefs
3. Making telephone calls and receiving telephone messages on behalf of the solicitor
4. Sending and receiving e-mail messages on behalf of the solicitor
5. Making appointments, keeping records and contacts up to date
6. Filing and photocopying duties, keeping records up to date
7. Being a support to the firm and the wider team, as and when required
Working Hours
37.5 hours per week
Monday – Friday 9am – 5:30pm with 1 unpaid hour for lunch.
Primary location for this role is Dublin
Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
1. Audio / copy typing
2. PC literate, MS Word, MS Excel, Case Management
3. MS Outlook – working knowledge of how to create and maintain contacts, working knowledge of diary maintenance, including joint diaries with other solicitors. Extensive knowledge of email especially working with attachments
4. Highly organised with a strong attention to detail
5. Photocopying, binding, scanning, filing
6. Effective time management – prioritise work for solicitor
7. Good communication skills and telephone manner
8. Well presented, polite and professional
9. Maintain confidentiality and work without supervision
10. Any other ad-hoc duties as delegated by your line manager or solicitors
