Job Title: Welder
We are seeking a skilled Welder to join our team, specialising in welding switchgear doors and covers.
The ideal candidate will have experience in welding metal components to meet precise specifications, with a focus on quality, safety, and efficiency.
This role involves welding, fabricating, and assembling switchgear parts, ensuring structural integrity and durability for electrical equipment enclosures.
Main Responsibilities:
* Welding: Perform MIG, TIG, or Stick welding (depending on requirements) on various metals, including steel, stainless steel, and aluminum, to assemble and fabricate switchgear doors, covers, and other metal components.
* Blueprint Reading: Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and welding symbols to determine material specifications, dimensions, and welding processes required for switchgear door and cover fabrication.
* Surface Preparation: Prepare and clean metal surfaces, including grinding, sanding, and removing any contaminants to ensure proper weld adhesion and finish.
* Quality Control: Inspect welds and finished parts to ensure they meet design specifications, structural integrity, and quality standards.
* Assembly: Assemble switchgear doors, covers, and related components using welding techniques and mechanical fastening methods as required.
* Safety Compliance: Adhere to all safety procedures, including the proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE) such as welding helmets, gloves, and protective clothing.
* Troubleshooting: Troubleshoot welding issues, including defects in materials, equipment, or processes, and make necessary adjustments to ensure product quality.
Qualifications & Skills:
* Proven experience in welding, particularly on metal components such as switchgear doors and covers or other related enclosures.
* Proficient in MIG, TIG, and/or Stick welding techniques.
* Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and welding symbols.
* Strong understanding of welding materials (steel, stainless steel, aluminum, etc.) and welding processes.
* Knowledge of welding safety practices and use of PPE.
* Attention to detail and focus on producing high-quality welds with minimal rework.
* Ability to operate and maintain welding machines and equipment.
* Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot welding issues.
