Job Description Our client is is expanding its Environmental Team and is currently seeking an experienced Senior and/or Principal Environmental Consultant.
The successful candidate will join our dynamic team, leading challenging and exciting projects spanning various sectors, including data centres, pharma facilities, large-scale residential developments (LDR), and commercial developments.
The Environmental Team includes a diverse group including environmental consultants, geologists, hydrogeologists, and environmental scientists.
The Consultant will play a pivotal role in driving project success, leveraging their extensive experience to lead our multidisciplinary team.
Candidates should possess outstanding leadership qualities, be highly driven, and excel in a team environment.
A strong balance of technical expertise and project management skills, exceptional communication/written skillsis crucial to lead a variety of complex projects effectively.
The role is available as a hybrid role if required.
For the right candidate we will consider remote workers within the EU but the candidate would be required to travel to Ireland (Dublin Office) on occasion.
Responsibilities As a Senior or Principal, the successful candidate will be responsible for: Leading and overseeing the coordination of Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) Reports; and Industrial Emission (IE) Directive Licence applications.
Technical report writing including preparation of EIA scoping and screening reports, Human Health Impact Assessment, Operational Reports and Technical Opinions.
Providing mentorship and direction to team members and sub-consultants, ensuring high standards and effective project delivery.
Communicating with clients, external stakeholders, regulatory bodies, and sub-contractors to ensure compliance with all project requirements.
Managing complex projects and programmes, including post-planning approval assistance and strategic oversight.
Crafting proposals and developing strategies to address and anticipate client needs.
Requirements: Minimum of 5 years' experience working in the environmental sector Proven track record in preparing Environmental Impact Assessments (EIA) and/or EPA Industrial Emissions Licensing.
Minimum BSc or BA (Hons) degree in environmental science or related discipline.
Exceptional organizational skills, self-motivation, and the ability to lead initiatives.
High attention to detail, excellent report writing, and communication skills.
Strong problem-solving abilities and capacity to assemble various strands of complex data into clear, concise outputs.
Ability to manage tight deadlines and adapt to evolving project requirements.
Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
Excellent proficiency in Microsoft Office.
Preferred 5 Years Experience Full Clean Driving Licence Experience in site inspection or environmental auditing.
Expertise in the preparation of Environmental Liability Risk Assessments, Closure Restoration, and Aftercare Management Plans in accordance with current guidance.
Experience in coordinating environmental monitoring programs (water, effluent, discharge license-related) and preparation of periodic compliance reports.
Chartership in a recognized environmental professional body (e.g., IEMA, IEI, IGI, CIWM, CIWEM).
