Job Description:
Our client is a specialist contractor operating across Ireland, UK, and Europe delivering full envelope solutions for blue-chip clients in the manufacturing, logistics, data centre, and pharmaceutical sectors on large-scale projects ranging in value from €5m – €40m. They are currently recruiting for a Construction Operations Director. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced senior manager to work with an award-winning organisation, recognised for their expertise in the sector. This position is vital within the organisation as they continue to scale and grow, offering the chance to work at a high level with experienced colleagues.
ABOUT THE ROLE:
The Construction Operations Director will oversee and manage the operational aspects of construction projects within the organisation. Responsibilities include ensuring projects are executed efficiently, within budget, and according to schedule. The Construction Operations Director collaborates closely with project managers, contractors, and other stakeholders to ensure successful project completion while maintaining high-quality standards and adhering to safety regulations.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Project Planning and Execution:
o Develop and implement project plans, including timelines, budgets, and resource allocation.
o Coordinate with project managers to ensure milestones and deliverables are met.
o Monitor project progress and address any issues or risks that may impact timelines or budget.
2. Resource Management:
o Oversee the allocation of resources, including labour, equipment, and materials.
o Collaborate with procurement and supply chain teams to manage sourcing and delivery of materials.
o Optimize resource utilization to minimize costs and maximize productivity.
3. Quality Control:
o Establish and enforce quality control procedures to ensure compliance with industry standards.
o Conduct regular inspections to identify and resolve quality issues.
o Implement corrective actions and improvement measures to enhance project quality.
4. Safety and Compliance:
o Ensure compliance with safety regulations and standards.
o Collaborate with safety officers to develop and enforce safety protocols.
o Conduct regular safety audits to identify and mitigate potential hazards.
5. Stakeholder Management:
o Collaborate with project managers, contractors, architects, and engineers for effective communication.
o Resolve conflicts and address concerns raised by stakeholders.
o Provide regular project updates and reports to senior management.
6. Budget and Cost Control:
o Develop project budgets and monitor expenses.
o Identify opportunities for cost savings and process improvements.
o Analyse financial data to support decision-making.
7. Continuous Improvement:
o Identify areas for process improvement and implement best practices.
o Stay updated with industry trends and technological advancements.
ABOUT YOU:
You will have a background and proven experience in construction operations, project management, or a similar role, with particular knowledge of building envelope construction methods including steel structures, curtain walling, facades, doors, and cladding. You will possess strong knowledge of construction industry standards, regulations, and best practices. As a senior manager, you will have exceptional people management skills and demonstrate excellent leadership capabilities.
In addition, you will:
* Have exceptional commercial and contractual awareness.
* Hold a Bachelor's degree in construction management, civil engineering, or a related field (Master's degree preferred).
* Exhibit strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
* Be proficient in project management software and tools.
* Be able to work under pressure and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
* Understand financial principles and budget management.
* Be familiar with safety regulations and protocols.
There is a very attractive package on offer for the right candidate, including a base salary of €130 – 150k plus a bonus, company car, employer pension, and other attractive benefits. This position may involve hybrid work with extended stays in particular jurisdictions.
