Facilities Technician - Full Time - Wexford, Ireland

Sulzer Pump Solutions Ireland Ltd is part of our Water and Industry Business Unit which aspires to develop products and solutions that support water recycling in a sustainable energy efficient way. There are 270 people employed in the Sulzer Company based in Wexford.
The Maintenance/Facilities technician role is to assist with the maintenance and upkeep of the facility in compliance with applicable building, health and safety, fire and environmental codes and regulations. Ensuring that the required services are available to allow the facility to operate in alignment with business objectives of the organisation.
We are looking for a Facilities Technician to join our FE_WIBU team in Ireland.
Your main tasks and responsibilities:
* Maintenance and upkeep of all building and physical infrastructure within site and to ensure compliance with all applicable building, health, safety, fire and environmental codes and regulations.
* Assist with the design & preparation of related project specifications and drawings, obtaining and assess quotations from external vendors / contractors.
* Assist with project management on facility related projects and actions ensuring projects are delivered on time and within budget and in a safe manner.
* Prepare purchase orders on SAP system for external vendors /contractors with approved quotations and complete goods received when complete. Maintain database of PO records.
* Assist with activities conforming with the site EHS policy & comply with EHS rules and requirements.
* Complete all necessary EHS permits to work and Risk Assessments related to external contractors.
* To ensure that assigned facilities are properly maintained including all toilet facilities, cloakrooms, offices and canteen facilities.
* Ensure prompt resolution of potential hazards.
* Support production department with required upgrades / drawings for production lines.
* Maintain facilities site and building services records.
* Conduct regular walk through of the facility to assist visual maintenance and security.
* Attend training courses on an ongoing basis as required.
* Upkeep of Test Tank Water data readings & associated actions.
* Air measurement reading from Paint plant & associated actions.
* Measured surveys and prepare drawings.
* Dealing with facility contractors and vendors.
* Upkeep of Facilities action list.
* Prepare reports / dashboards of facilities related issues.
* Interacting with other departments & employees on facility topics.
* Attend Tier meetings as required.
* Other duties as assigned in line with position.
To succeed in this role, you will need:
* Trade Qualification or Certificate / Diploma in relevant field.
* Proven knowledge and experience using AutoCad is a requirement.
* Proficient in Microsoft Office package.
* Experience with Microsoft Sharepoint is an advantage.
* A minimum 2 years proven experience in a technical / production / facilities environment.
* Health and Safety experience is an advantage.
* Experience managing external contractors and issuing permits to work is an advantage.
* Project Management experience is an advantage (eg A3).
* Effective communicator: strong communication skills concisely - internal and external.
* Accountable: Ability to manage multiple tasks and to be accountable for multiple metrics. Consistently deliver on personal and team commitments.
