Overview
Avant Money is going through an exciting phase of growth. Since 2019, Avant Money has been part of Bankinter, one of Spain’s leading banks. Later this year, Avant Money will complete the process to become the Irish branch of Bankinter. This change will enable us to introduce a wider range of banking products, building on our existing offering of credit cards, personal loans and mortgages.
To help drive this growth, we are seeking a Commercial Strategy Manager. This is a unique opportunity to join a rapidly growing business, where you will be central to developing the commercial strategy of the new bank. This role is on our Product Development Team, who are responsible for the development of the new products that we can offer as a bank. This team will also drive the successful commercial performance of these products post launch.
This role is highly visible across the business and will require independent interaction with key stakeholders, including C-suite.
You will have a dual focus; monitoring and analysing the commercial performance of the portfolio; and the development of growth initiatives for both new and existing products.
Close monitoring of pricing and balance sheet performance of the portfolio will be essential, with monthly pricing strategies required. This role will have ownership of this activity. You will identify and drive initiatives that ensure value propositions are market leading and suitably differentiated to grow the customer base and increase revenues. You will understand the commercial realities of banking, and how they interplay with evolving customer experience expectations. You will be a team player, who has experience in driving outcomes across multiple multi-disciplinary teams.
Key Responsibilities
* Monitoring & evaluation of commercial performance of the portfolio; customer acquisition, margin, balance growth and retention.
* End to end ownership of pricing strategies, including monitoring and analysis, pricing proposals and taking through to approval.
* Identification and assessment of commercial growth initiatives, work cross-functionally to analyse and prioritise initiatives that will improve commercial outcomes.
* Collaboratively work with Marketing & Digital to drive maximum sales conversion and ensure efficiency of marketing investment.
* Work with Advanced Analytics & Finance to understand commercial performance and build financial models to evaluate growth or pricing initiatives.
* Stay informed on market, competitor and international trends, proactively shaping strategies to drive sustained success.
Requirements
* Previous experience in a growth focused commercial role is preferred.
* Minimum 6 years’ experience in relevant roles.
* Understanding of the drivers of financial performance in a financial institution is essential.
* Experience with regulated financial products and propositions is preferred, experience with liability products will be highly favoured.
* Previous experience of P&L analysis, modelling and monitoring.
* A proven track record of developing recommendations based on analytical evidence.
* Demonstrated experience in developing strategic initiatives and presenting them to a diverse audience, including C suite level.
* Experience of collaborating and interacting with cross-functional teams and key stakeholders in multiple locations is key.
