Chef Role in Ennis Nursing Home
Ennis Nursing Home, located within the grounds of Pirc na Coille Retirement Village in Drumbiggle, is recruiting for a full-time Chef to join its existing catering team. The successful candidate will work some weekend hours.
Key Responsibilities:
* Prepare meals tailored to the dietary needs of nursing home residents.
* Deliver the catering service efficiently and in compliance with current legislation and company policies.
Hierarchy and Reporting:
* Responsible to: Director of Nursing
* Reports to: Chef Manager
Duties and Expectations:
The ideal candidate will ensure that kitchen hygiene meets Health and Safety Regulations, maintain relevant records, and adhere to HACCP Regulations.
They will conduct risk assessments, manage first aid, hygiene, health & safety rules, and COSHH Regulations, as well as operate, maintain, and service equipment according to manufacturer's instructions and Health and Safety requirements.
Maintenance of adequate records for purchasing and stock control, along with handling and storing cleaning materials and substances in accordance with Control of Substances Hazardous to Health requirements, are also key responsibilities.
The Chef will guide and direct the catering team to follow legislative guidelines and company policies.
Providing high-quality catering services to meet the needs of residents and staff is essential.
Qualifications, Skills, and Attributes:
* Professional qualification (Culinary Arts/HACCP/QQI)
* HACCP Training
* Experience working in similar environments with knowledge of HIQA standards and special diets for the elderly
* Ability to motivate self and others and work independently
* Excellent leadership, organizational, and communication skills
* Fluent level of English, both written and oral
