Who we are looking for
The Head of Investments, SSGA Europe Limited is a regulated role that has responsibility for overseeing portfolio management activity performed within the entity as well as portfolio management activity delegated to other SSGA entities. This role oversees investment staff in Europe (Ireland and Poland) and serves as the first escalation point for investments on all matters that could have an adverse impact on State Street Global Advisors, its clients, and its relationships with regulators. Experience in investment decision making and risk-taking is required. The role reports directly to the Head of Strategy and Operations, Investments, with a matrix reporting line to the Head of EMEA, State Street Global Advisors, and is located in Dublin, Ireland.
The role has two Central Bank of Ireland Pre-Approved Controlled Functions:
1. PCF-30 (Chief Investment Officer)
2. PCF-39D (Designated Person for Investment Management)
This role can be performed in a hybrid model, where you can balance work from home and office to match your needs and role requirements.

What you will be responsible for
As Head of Investments, SSGA Europe Limited you will:
1. Oversee portfolio management and asset stewardship for portfolios contracted to and managed by SSGA Europe Limited, as well as assets delegated to other SSGA entities.
2. Oversee investment staff in Ireland and Poland.
3. Take leadership for investments on matters that could have an adverse impact on clients and stakeholders.
4. Engage with regulators and assume all relevant regulatory responsibilities and designations.
5. Contribute to the strengthening of investment processes, research, and control framework in the region.

Education & Preferred Qualifications
Tertiary qualification and/or professional investment designation preferred. Minimum 10 years of investment experience.
Additional requirements
Regular travel to Krakow required. Experience with governance and regulatory activity a plus.
